You will want to make sure that you give his interests a chance without losing yourself into them. A woman that is quick to lose her interests and likes to his, will usually end up scaring a guy off because he doesn’t want to deal with a woman that is only interested in pleasing him.

Ask him what his interests are, if you are lost as soon as he starts talking then ask him some questions. This is something that can end up being a lot of fun and educational. Even if you are not interested in the least at what he is saying try to appreciate the passion that he has for the things that interest him.
Your Interests
Don’t forget to mention the things that you like. You may be surprised and he may like a few of the same things. At the very least, he may be polite like you were and allow you to elaborate in the things that you love. Chances are he will be able to appreciate the passion that you have for the things that genuinely interest you.
Middle Ground
Try to find a middle ground. No matter how little you have in common there should be at least one or two things that you both like. Try to focus on these when you get tired of learning about your separate interests.
